Sub account
Learn how Sub Accounts help you separate money, create budget spaces, move funds, and manage balances under your main BinaxPay account.
Manage Sub Accounts
This page shows the details of one selected Sub Account. A Sub Account sits under a main BinaxPay account and helps you separate money for a specific purpose, such as accommodation, travel, bills, savings, card spending, or shared budgeting.
From this page, you can review the Sub Account name, parent account, status, available balance, currency, overview details, balance information, and receiving-money guidance. You can also use quick actions to transfer funds, edit the Sub Account where supported, delete it when allowed, or refresh the latest account information. Sub Accounts sit under a main account and help you separate money for budgets, travel, bills, savings, cards, shared spending, or other purposes.
Create Sub Account steps
Create Sub Account
The Create Sub Account flow helps you add a new money space under an existing main account. The flow is shown in a guided multi-step modal. You select the parent account, choose the currency, enter the Sub Account details, select the Sub Account type, choose optional features where available, and review the final setup before creating it. The modal also explains that Sub Accounts sit under a main account. To receive money, you normally use the main account details first, then move funds into the Sub Account.
Step 1 — Select parent account
Choose the account this Sub Account belongs to
The first step asks you to choose which main account the new Sub Account should sit under. In this example, the parent account is GBP — Personal Account · GBP. This means the new Sub Account will be created under that account, and you will choose the currency and Sub Account details in the following steps. This step is important because the parent account controls where the Sub Account belongs and how funds can be moved into it.
Step 2 — Select currency
Choose the Sub Account currency
The second step asks you to choose the currency for the Sub Account. In this example, the selected currency is GBP £ · British Pound. The page also reminds you that the Sub Account is linked to the main account. To receive money, you should use the main account IBAN and then move funds into this Sub Account. This step must be completed before continuing because the currency affects how the Sub Account balance and transfers will work.
Step 3 — Enter Sub Account details
Add the Sub Account name and type
This step collects the main details for the new Sub Account. You enter a Sub Account name, such as Travel, Bills, Savings, or Accommodation. You then select the Sub Account type. In this example, the selected type is Individual — For person card. The page also includes a Person card vs budget card explanation, helping you understand the difference between Sub Account types. This is useful because a Sub Account can support different purposes, such as person-based card spending, budget planning, shared spaces, or organized money management.
Currency confirmation
Currency selected in the previous step
The currency field shows the currency selected earlier in the flow. In this example, the currency is GBP £ · British Pound, and the note confirms it was chosen in the previous step. This helps you review your setup without going back unless the currency is wrong.
Optional features
Choose extra Sub Account features
The Create Sub Account modal includes optional feature checkboxes. Available options may include Payments, People & cards, and Cards. These help you choose which capabilities should be connected to the Sub Account where supported. The page also explains that the Sub Account name and type are required, while features are optional. This means you can create a basic Sub Account first and add extra capabilities only when they are needed and available.
Final create action
Create Sub Account
The final action creates the new Sub Account after all required details are complete. Before selecting Create Sub Account, you should review the parent account, Sub Account name, type, currency, and optional features. If something is wrong, the Back button lets you return to an earlier step. The final note explains that the parent account links to the main account balance automatically. This helps you understand that the Sub Account is connected to the main account rather than being a fully separate standalone account.
Budget transfer page
Budget transfer
What this screen does
The Budget Transfer screen is used to move funds between budgets or Sub Accounts on the selected account. The screen includes a From budget area, a To budget area, and a transfer form. You choose the account, select the source budget, select the destination budget, enter the amount, add an optional reference, and review the transfer before submitting it. This flow helps you move money from one separated money space to another without treating it as an external payment.
From budget
Source budget
The From budget card shows where the money will come from. In this example, the selected source budget is Transport. It shows the budget status as Active, the type as Shared, the currency as GBP, and the available balance as £0.00. This gives you a quick check before continuing. If the source budget has no available balance, you can see that before attempting the transfer.
To budget
Destination budget
The To budget card shows where the money will go. In this example, the destination has not been selected yet, so the card asks you to choose a budget to see details. After selecting a destination budget, this area helps you confirm that the transfer is going to the correct place. This reduces mistakes when you have several Sub Accounts or budget spaces.
Transfer form
Move funds between budgets
The transfer form collects the details needed to review the budget transfer. The Account field confirms the main account connected to the transfer. The From budget field shows the selected source budget. The To budget field lets you choose the destination budget. The currency is shown as GBP, and you enter the transfer amount. The Reference field is optional and can be used to describe the reason for the transfer. The Review transfer button lets you check the transfer details before completing it.

What this screen does
This page shows the details of one selected Sub Account.
Selected Sub Account overview
Sub Account header
This section identifies the selected Sub Account. It shows the Sub Account name, the parent account it belongs to, whether it is shared, and whether it is currently active. In this example, the Sub Account is named ACCOMMODATION, belongs to Account F58809, and is marked as Shared. The Active status confirms that the Sub Account is available for supported activity. This header helps you confirm that you are viewing the correct money space before making transfers or changes.
Available balance
Available
The balance card shows how much money is currently available in this Sub Account. In this example, the available balance is £0.00. This means there are no funds available to use from this Sub Account at that moment. The actions beside the balance let you manage the Sub Account directly. Transfer starts a movement between budgets or Sub Accounts. The edit icon allows changes to Sub Account details where supported. The delete icon is used when the Sub Account can be removed.
Refresh status
Refresh
The refresh button reloads the latest Sub Account information. This is useful after a transfer, balance update, edit, or account change. If you expect the balance or status to update, use Refresh to check the newest available information.
Overview
Key facts for this Sub Account
The overview section gives you the main facts about the selected Sub Account. It shows the parent account, currency, structure, created date, and updated date. In this example, the Sub Account uses GBP, was created and updated on May 29, 2026, and is linked to Account F58809. The structure note explains where the Sub Account sits inside the account hierarchy. This section is useful when you have several Sub Accounts and need to confirm which one you are managing.
Balances
Sub Account balance table
The balances section shows the currency and available balance in a simple table. In this example, the Sub Account currency is GBP and the available balance is £0.00. This gives you a clear balance view without relying only on the top summary card. This is helpful before moving money, creating card access, or using the Sub Account for budgeting.
Receiving money
Receiving funds into a Sub Account
This section explains how receiving money works for the selected Sub Account. The Sub Account is linked to the main account. To receive money, you should use the main account IBAN first, then move funds into the Sub Account. Sub Accounts do not have their own IBAN unless the provider specifically assigns one. This is important because users should not assume every Sub Account has separate receiving details. In most cases, the main account receives the money first, and the user then moves funds into the correct Sub Account.
